Research Interests

Dr. Jacome-Sosa’s research combines basic and clinical-metabolic approaches to understand how nutrition and individual factors influence disease risk and translational research aimed at developing practical, community-based interventions to improve metabolic health.  Her focus is on understanding the unique metabolic alterations in the Latino population, exploring the mechanisms responsible for the therapeutic effects of weight loss, and the optimal nutritional and behavioral targets (e.g., diet, meal timing, and sleep) and interventions needed to prevent and treat obesity-related metabolic dysfunction and disease in the Latino population.
